The Graduate

On the back of a very successful spring 2009 tour, culminating at the Theatre Royal Nottingham, TABS productions and Angela Browne Ltd present THE GRADUATE. Based on the legendary Oscar-winning film starring Dustin Hoffman and Anne Bancroft, this hit in the West End and on Broadway is vividly brought back to the stage.

“Superb Sixties Satire”
“On a simple set, designed with cinematically nifty scene changes in mind, there’s some splendid acting going on… This is a lovely production of a considerable play”
Alan Geary - Evening Post Nottingham

“Excellent performance of ‘The Graduate’ at Theatre Royal”
“…brilliant and hilarious production of the Graduate”
Catherine Allen – Hucknall Dispatch

“Graduate will make the grade…"
“two leading actors both deliver convincing and compelling performances… Adrian Lloyd James’ direction perfectly balances the comedy and drama… The Graduate passes with first-class honours…”
Steve Burbridge – Shields Gazette

“Here’s to you Mrs Robinson”
“The Graduate gets the full treatment from Tabs Productions; sophisticated set, exquisite lighting, the best of the regions home grown talent along with a couple of newcomers with flair and confidence… Grant Orviss plays poor callow Ben Braddock with real sympathy”
Lynne Patrick – Derbyshire Times

“Karen Henson wonderfully recreates the man-eating and achingly desperate and lonely seductress…”
Emily Taylor – The British Theatre Guide

Ed Reardon: A Writer's Burden

Pleasance Courtyard - August 3rd to 29th 2011

Telegraph Critic's Theatre Choice for Edinburgh Fringe

Ed Reardon… failed writer, fare-dodger and master of the abusive email. Living with his cat in a one-bedroom flat, this bearded divorcee grumbles at a modern world seemingly run by 12-year-olds, while churning out books such as Jane Seymour's Household Hints and Pet Peeves (to pay the bills) and trying to live off the royalties of his 1982 episode of Tenko (£17 per annum).

Ed Reardon's Week was voted Best Radio Programme by the Broadcasting Press Guild and stars Christopher Douglas as Ed.

Based on BBC Radio 4's “Ed Reardon's Week” by Christopher Douglas and Andrew Nickolds (voted Best Radio Programme by the Broadcasting Press Guild), A Writer's Burden stars Christopher Douglas as Ed, supported by Nicola Sanderson and Josh Darcy.

Raining Men

A new comedy by the writer of “Hen Party Night” Chris Ponka, tells the story of Phil, a bouncer, Doug, a DJ, and Colin, a barman. It’s coming up to Halloween and the nightclub in which the trio all work has no act, so the boys decide to put on a little show of their own....

The play brings together Michael Cross, Andrew Ryan and Patric Kearns, all glamorous Drag artists and Panto Dames in their own right for a night where The Full Monty meets Priscilla, Queen of the Desert… a great night out featuring the music of Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey and Judy Garland. But be warned this play is strictly for adults only with strong language and adult content from the start!

“No one escapes the Raining Men treatment from Edith Piaf to Scary Spice. Streisand, Bassey and Judy Garland all appear as you have never seen them before and never will again in your lifetime and your children’s lifetime.... not for prudes or those with high blood pressure... Don't bother to remember the punchlines of the deluge of jokes either, there is absolutely nowhere on earth you could ever possibly retell them... ”
Review: Julian Bray – Peterborough Nov 2010

“Hordes of women attended the premiere at the Pomegranate intent on having a good night out. They danced in the aisles, waved their hands in the air, sang along to Abba’s Dancing Queen, did all the actions to YMCA and gave the all-male cast a standing ovation. In their guy to gal transformations, they proved there ain’t nothing like a dame when it comes to having fun. Their frocky horror spooktackular had the first night audience howling with laughter.”
Review: Gay Bolton – Derbyshire Times 2010
